Sales are slow. Someone suggests increasing the advertising budget. It feels like action, which is reassuring. It may also make the wrong problem more expensive.
Start by finding where the business is losing momentum. Are too few relevant people discovering the offer? Are interested visitors unconvinced? Are useful enquiries going unanswered? Each calls for different work.
Look at the journey before choosing the campaign. Read customer questions, examine product pages and speak to the sales team. Compare your explanation with what actually happens.
Imagine a brand with plenty of product visits but repeated questions about delivery and returns. Buying more visits may help less than answering those questions properly. Another brand may have a clear offer and healthy conversion but too little relevant attention.
Write a working diagnosis and identify the evidence that would challenge it. You do not need certainty before acting. You need a reason for the action and a way to learn whether the reason holds up.
