One campaign produces inexpensive enquiries. Another costs more per lead. The first looks like the winner until your sales team starts calling.

An enquiry has value only in the context of what happens next. Unreachable contacts, unsuitable locations and people with no relevant need can consume hours without creating a meaningful opportunity.

Follow a batch of leads through qualification and purchase. Include the time spent handling them and the cost of acquiring customers, rather than comparing the form submissions alone.

For example, a campaign bringing fewer enquiries may still produce more suitable conversations and purchases. That is worth understanding before shifting budget towards the cheapest headline number.

Do not assume every rejected lead is an advertising failure. Slow responses, unclear qualification and inconsistent sales follow-up can also damage results. Record rejection reasons and check the process.

The useful conversation is not How do we make leads cheaper? It is How do we acquire customers the business can serve well, at a cost that makes sense?
