The campaign is working. Someone doubles the budget. The team expects twice the result. The business may experience something quite different.

As spending expands, the next customers can cost more to reach or have a different fit. An attractive average acquisition cost does not tell you what the next portion of spend will produce.

Look at marginal performance: the additional cost and useful outcomes associated with expansion. Review customer quality, contribution and the time it takes to recover acquisition costs.

Check operational capacity too. Can sales respond? Is stock available? Can fulfilment keep the promise? Growth that overwhelms the business can create returns, complaints and wasted demand.

Set a staged expansion plan with clear review points and stop conditions. Keep track of what changed, and allow for conversion delays before judging the newest spending.

A good scaling decision is one the marketing, finance and operations teams can explain together. The budget is only one part of it.
