Building a connected D2C experience for a children’s food brand

Avocado Tree Digital supported Slurrp Farm’s digital transformation through audience research, website redesign, content strategy and customer lifecycle planning. The programme connected six buyer personas with a more structured D2C experience, while helping stakeholders respond to the disruption of COVID-19.

Context

Slurrp Farm brings grains such as millet, ragi and oats into children’s diets through cereals, mixes, cookies and snacks. The brand needed to strengthen its own online store alongside marketplace distribution and help parents understand its products and ingredients.

The challenge

Create a clearer D2C buying journey for different parent audiences and connect education, purchase, customer support and retention within one digital programme.

Our approach

Audience and journey mapping

Developed six buyer personas and mapped the journey from search, content and social discovery through purchase, retargeting and retention. Used these insights to guide messaging, product presentation and channel choices.

Website and store experience

Audited brand, product, blog, press and contact pages. Reworked the sitemap, navigation, mobile layouts and landing pages for bulk orders and seasonal promotions. Addressed customer support and the transition from static product displays to a D2C store experience.

CRM and lifecycle communications

Structured CRM and email automation for post-purchase recipe content, abandoned cart recovery and replenishment reminders. Connected messages with product categories and likely customer needs.

Loyalty and stakeholder support

Designed the “Slurrp Fans” loyalty and advocacy framework, including packaging QR codes to connect retail buyers with the online store and referral credits linked to account creation and first purchase. Worked with stakeholders on digital transformation priorities and the response to COVID-19.

Outcomes and achievements

The work established a more connected D2C framework spanning audience insights, website experience, customer communications and retention. Six personas informed the buying journey, while three lifecycle scenarios gave the team a structured basis for customer follow-up.
