Context
SGInnovate helps entrepreneurial scientists turn research into technology-based companies. Its work spans Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Computing, MedTech, Autonomous Systems and CleanTech. The organisation needed a unified digital platform to connect technical talent, researchers, corporate innovation teams and investors with relevant programmes, content and opportunities.
The challenge
Build digital pathways that support both talent development and venture-building activity, accommodate different stakeholder journeys and scale with the ecosystem. During COVID-19, the platform also needed to sustain events and engagement through an accelerated shift to virtual delivery.
Our approach
Platform architecture and workflows
Engineered and managed a Drupal content management system with scalable content models for daily publishing, landing pages and interactive journeys. Developed custom modules and workflows for events, content and partner programmes, and implemented a CRM system.
Discovery and stakeholder journeys
Integrated faceted search for research papers, programme information and media assets. Connected workflows with HubSpot marketing automation for personalised communications and lead nurture. Improved UX/UI and accessibility, and led the migration to Drupal 9.
Events, authentication and integrations
Integrated GEVME, Eventbrite and Zoom to support registration and virtual or hybrid events. Implemented Single Sign-On connected to SGInnovate’s central CRM, one of the largest CRM instances in the public sector, to support stakeholder tracking and unified analytics.
Virtual delivery and technical continuity
Adapted event and pitch-session infrastructure for digital delivery during COVID-19. Supported the virtual Deep Tech Summit at SFF x SWITCH with more than 1,000 simultaneous attendees across global time zones. Managed technical incidents through JIRA, alongside security patching, server infrastructure management and ongoing platform support.
Outcomes and achievements
The engagement established a connected digital foundation for SGInnovate’s talent, venture-building and ecosystem programmes. Integrated content, search, CRM, authentication and event workflows supported stakeholder engagement, while the Drupal 9 migration and ongoing technical support helped maintain the platform over time. Virtual event infrastructure supported more than 1,000 simultaneous attendees at the Deep Tech Summit at SFF x SWITCH.
